Principal Dancer
LOLA ARCEDO was born and raised in Madrid, Spain, where she studied ballet at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música y Danza and received her degree as a professional ballet dancer. She later came to the Unites States on a Fulbright Scholarship (awarded by the U.S.-Spanish Joint Committee for Cultural and Educational Cooperation) to study modern dance at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center for three consecutive years.
She has performed with Real Ballet de Cámara de Madrid and Ritmo Dance Company in Spain, and with Eleo Pomare Dance Company, Whitney Ballet Theater, Staten Island Ballet, Ilya Gaft Dance Theater, Urban Ballet Theater, Dance Theater in Westchester, and Rebecca Kelly Ballet in the United States.
After a twenty-five year career in ballet and modern dance, Lola began her training in Spanish dance here in the U.S., specializing in Escuela Bolera. She has studied with: Gabriela Granados, José Molina, Mariano Parra, Jorge Navarro, Manolo Ribera and Jerane Michel. Lola has been a member of the American Bolero Dance Company since 2001, and has appeared for three years now as a solo dancer with Amigos de la Zarzuela.
